Privacy policy

This policy covers lewishamremovals.uk and the removals service operated under the name Lewisham Removals. We are the data controller for the information described here.

What we collect

• Enquiry details — your name, phone number, email address, pickup and drop-off addresses, preferred moving date and any notes sent through the quote form.
• Survey information — notes, measurements and, where you agree to a video survey, a record of what was discussed, including an inventory of what is being moved.
• Building and access details — the floor, whether there is a lift, who manages the building, and any freeholder or managing-agent requirements.
• Website analytics — anonymous usage data via Google Analytics.

Parking applications, and what they involve

Most of this borough is inside a controlled parking zone, so a large share of our jobs need a bay suspension or dispensation from Lewisham Council. Applying means giving the council your address and the date the property will be loaded.

That is a small amount of information but it is a meaningful disclosure: it identifies a specific address on a specific day. We supply only what the application requires, and we do not use it for anything else.

Property information and why it matters

A removals survey creates a record of what is inside an address and when that address will be empty. We treat that as sensitive. Survey notes and inventories are held on access-controlled systems, shared only with the crew assigned to your move, and never passed to third parties for marketing.

Who we share it with

Only where the job requires it: Lewisham Council for parking arrangements; freeholders and managing agents where a building requires notice or proof of insurance; storage providers where you have booked storage; our insurers if a claim arises; and our accountants for financial records. We do not sell your information.

Where a sister site in this network is better placed to help, we do not pass on your details — you decide whether to contact them.

Why we hold it

• To prepare a quote, at your request, before any contract exists.
• To carry out a move you have booked.
• To arrange parking and building access permissions.
• To meet accounting and tax record-keeping requirements.

How long we keep it

Enquiries that do not become bookings are deleted once they are of no further use. Completed job records, including inventories, are kept for the period required for insurance, claims and accounting, and then deleted.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of what we hold, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it where no continuing obligation requires us to keep it, or object to how we use it.

Cookies

Google Analytics cookies to measure usage, and reCAPTCHA on the quote form to prevent automated abuse. No advertising or tracking cookies. Blocking cookies will not stop the site working.

Changes

If this policy changes we will update this page. Material changes affecting an active booking will be communicated to you directly.
